Last night (28 September 2005) around 10 pm, I was scanning through the ASTRO Channels and, Voila!!, I caught the DISCOVERY Channel which was showing a kind of Tribal Wedding and so on. That was however, not the point of 'attraction'. What was fascinating was that they (men and women) had a wooden rod sticking out of their chin, between the lower lip and the gums AND they were TOTALLY NAKED ... I mean totally naked!! They were starkers .... children, young, teens, pregnant, old, very old .. all of them ... I mean nothing was even blurred !!
Very puzzling. Sometimes on ASTRO, scenes are censored, like for example, scenes in the films The Last Samurai (chopping of the head), Disclosure (steamy scene), An officer and a Gentlemen (nudity) and many more. BUT all these snippets were nothing compared to the total nudity that was shown in Discovery Channel. When is it ok, and when is it NOT ok. If they are going to say that is their way, the same argument can be said of sexy or gory scenes.
Hmmm ... these censorship people better get their guidelines right .... aiyaa, tak tau lah ...
