It can be done ... |
Ruqaya Al Ghasara of Bahrain (2nd R) No 2013 celebrates winning the women’s 200m against Susanthika J. Mannalage (R) of Sri Lanka, Han Ling (2nd L) of China, and Guzel Khubbieva (L) No 2502 of Uzbekistan. She could habe won the 100m too had she had a better start. She should be winning in the future if given the chance to compete ... get the kick off the block improved!! A big THANK YOU to Ruqaya for proving to the world that a bit of covering on the head did not skew aerodynamics too much.
And THANK YOU QATAR: They put on the best Asian Games ever, the biggest Asian Games ever, the most widely reported Asian Games ever, the highest standard of Asian Games in terms of both sporting achievement and planning ever – and they even won some medals too. Qatar’s success on the field amazed everyone and leaves a legacy for the whole country and the wider Middle East. The 15th Asian Games was not just about putting Doha on the map in a sporting sense, but Qatar acted as flag bearer for the whole of the region. Never before had a Middle Eastern country and region staged anything on this scale. Now Qatar has done it, others will follow. From the 15th Asian games in 2006, we look forward to the 16th Asian Games that will be held in Guangzhou, CHINA in 2010, inshaallah ....
