Students Ready to Lead ..?? |
NST - 6 August 2007 - Students boo over remarks that they can freely express views - KUALA LUMPUR: Boos and catcalls greeted Datuk Rafiah Salim when she said public university students had the freedom to express their thoughts and ideas.
Several hundred dissenting voices rang out when the Universiti Malaya vice-chancellor, when taking a question from the floor, said there was "no such thing as students being unable to address their concerns". Hearing their disapproval, Rafiah retorted: "Behaviour like this is exactly what causes people not to respect you. You won’t even give me a hearing. And you won’t get respect. "If you behave like that, nobody will listen to you because it is not worth listening. You are not respecting others." Hmm .. looks like our students still has A LOT to learn .. there are rules and regulations and channels as well as etiquette of doing things .. don't follow the KURANG AJAR way of Al Gore when he came to Malaysia. Not only was he Biadap, he didi not do his homework as well ... sometimes it is best to study first the consequences before you take a step .. hopefully in the right direction as well. A philosopher called Voltaire once said, I may not like what you have to say, but I will defend to my death your right to say it. Are we ready folks to be as such ??? Aiyaa .. tak tau lah ...
